Day 1 Fly to Ho Chi Minh City
You will take a scheduled flight from London Heathrow to Ho Chi Minh City. Alternatively, we can arrange departures from your local airport.

Day 2 Arrive Ho Chi Minh City
Upon arrival in Ho Chi Minh City, you will be met by your tour guide and transferred to the hotel. Rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 3 Ho Chi Minh City tour and Cu Chi (BL)
In the morning, drive to the extraordinary Cu Chi tunnels, on the city’s outskirts. En route, you have chance to see how rural people live and work. View occupations such as cashew nut farming, duck breeding, rice farming and production of rice paper, a key ingredient in Vietnamese cuisine. Return to the city for lunch, then visit the Reunification Hall, Notre Dame Cathedral, General Post Office, Former US Embassy, City Hall and War Museum of Remnants. End the day with shopping at Ben Thanh market.

Day 4 Embarkation (BLD)
Transfer to My Tho to embark on your 7-night Mekong River journey aboard your Mekong cruise. Settle into your cabin and admire the views as you cruise the Mekong River. In the evening enjoy a welcome dinner with your fellow travellers.

Day 5 Cai Be, Sa Dec (BLD)
In the morning take an exciting Sampan boat excursion to Sa Dec via Vinh Long, along canals and backwaters. Visit Cai Be and its colourful floating market and Sa Dec to see the local market and the ancient house of Mr Huyn Thuy Le, the lover of Marguerite Duras, the famous French novelist.

Day 6 Chau Doc to Phnom Penh (BLD)
Visit a Cham tribal village, a cat fish farm, and enjoy a trishaw ride round Chau Doc. Return to the ship by boat for lunch and cast off for the Cambodian border for the usual formalities.

Day 7 Phnom Penh (BLD)
Visit Phnom Penh with your own private cyclo which is provided by a local charity, Cyclo Centre Phnom Penh. In the afternoon there is an optional excursion by coach to the Killing Fields and the Khmer Rouge’s grim Tuol Sleng or S21 detention centre. (This tour is included in the cost of your cruise but must be requested at the time of booking in the comments box).

Day 8 Tonle Lake to Kampong Chhnang (BLD)
Excursion up the Tonle River to Kampong Chhnang either by ship or by coach depending on water levels. In Kampong Chhnang take a motor boat excursion into the lakeside wetlands that form the mouth of the river.

Day 9 Chong Koh to Pream Chi Kang (BLD)
Stop at the little-known Chong Koh silk-weaving village for a morning walk, later call at Peam Chi Kang village to visit the Wat or monastery and its schools. In the Wat the splendid village racing boats are stored.

Day 10 Kampong Cham (BLD)
Cruise to the pre-Angkorian temple of Wat Hanchey, and later drive to the twin holy mountains of Phnom Pros and Phnom Srey (Man and Woman Hill). Continue to the ecotourism village of Choeung Kok.

Day 11 Siem Reap and Angkor Wat (B)
Disembark this morning and transfer to the hotel in Siem Reap for a 2-night stay. Afternoon visit to Angkor Wat. It is visually, architecturally and artistically breathtaking, with its massive three-tiered pyramid crowned by five beehive-like towers rising 65 meters from ground level. Take in the romantic sunset from Bakheng Hill.

Day 12 Angkor (BL)
Spend an incredible day touring the ancient and mysterious temples of Angkor, starting with the South Gate of Angkor Thom and continuing to the Bayon, Baphoun, Terrace of the Elephants, Terrace of the Leper King and Pimean Akas. After lunch, visit Thommanon, Chau Say Teveda, Ta Keo, the atmospheric tree-covered Ta Prohm, Banteay Kdei and Sras Srang. In the evening experience an entertaining and original Cambodian show at Phare Ponleu Selpak’s Circus.

Day 13 Flight back to UK (B)
After breakfast visit Preah Khan, Neak Pean, Ta Som, and East Meborn. Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
