Day 1 Luang Prabang
On arrival at the airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham, Wat Mai. Walk up the 100m hill to the top of Mount Phousi. Enjoy a spectacular sunset, overlooking the city and the Mekong River. In the evening explore the Night Market.
Day 2 Khouangsi Waterfall
An optional early start gives you the fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily traditional morning rituals of saffron-clad monks collecting offerings of Alms (ubiquitous sticky rice) from the faithful residents. After breakfast, enjoy a short-guided tour seeing the city’s oldest temple of Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xiengthong. Take a cruise the Mekong River, offering panoramic views of the tranquil countryside as well as an interesting visit to the mysterious of Pak Ou Caves. Along the way, we stop at the small village of Ban Xanghai, where the local rice wine is distilled. We return to Luang Prabang at noon. In the afternoon drive to Khouangsi Waterfall en route, visit local villages of Lao ethnic minority groups at Hmong Village, Laoloum Village and Khmu Village. During your time at the beautiful Khouangsi Waterfall you can take a dip in the turquoise pools or walk along the forest trails. Return to the city by late afternoon to observe the sunset at Wat Phabath.
Day 3 National Museum
Following breakfast visit the National Museum at the former Royal Palace displays a lovely collection of the artefacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture dating from the days of the early kings right through the last sovereign, there will be free time to venture into town and stroll around the shopping area. Afternoon transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
