Day 1 Fly to Hanoi
Depart London Heathrow on a flight to Hanoi.
Day 2 Arrive in Hanoi (D))
Upon arrival, be met and transferred to the hotel. After checking in at your hotel, relax and unwind in a peaceful atmosphere of one of Hanoi’s many fine Spa and Wellness centres and enjoy a spa treatment. Let your hair down, enjoy the soothing experience and re-discover yourself. In the evening enjoy a romantic dinner at one of the Hanoi’s excellent restaurants.
Day 3 Hanoi city tour (BL)
Start your day with the Temple of Literature – the first university of Vietnam built in the 11th century which reveals the Vietnamese spirit of study in the past. Explore The Old Quarter by electric car, passing through this fascinating area at a leisurely pace. Enjoy a special lunch at an authentic restaurant. The rest of day is at leisure.
Day 4 Hanoi to Halong Bay (BLD)
Depart for Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Board the Bhaya Legend Halong cruise vessel for a welcome cocktail followed by a cruise briefing. Enjoy lunch while your boat cruises towards Ha Long Bay, Sung Sot Cave. Enjoy a tour of Sung Sot cave and continue to Tung Sau area, where you will have free time for water activities or sunbathing. The boat then cruises to Ho Dong Tien to anchor for the evening. In the early evening you will have the opportunity to join a cooking demonstration on the sundeck to learn more about the local cuisine. After a delicious dinner on board perhaps join the crew for squid fishing.
Day 5 Halong Bay to Hanoi (B – Brunch)
Perhaps rise early to enjoy the sunrise and join an early morning Tai Chi session on deck. At breakfast time the Legend Halong weighs it’s anchor to cruise towards the Dark and Bright Lagoon which you can explore by kayak.
After a leisurely brunch served onboard, the vessel cruises back to the harbour. Disembark at Tuan Chau Island and return to Hanoi for overnight.
Day 6 Hanoi to Hoi An (BLD)
Take an early flight to Da Nang. On arrival, our private guide and driver will pick you up at and transfer you to your Hotel in Hoi An. Visit the ancient streets of Hoi An, lined with Chinese traders’ homes and wooden houses reincarnated as restaurants, cafés, and outlets for local artists, craftsmen and tailors. Explore the beautiful 16th century Japanese Bridge. Hoi An’s unique fusion of Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese architecture is well displayed here, in what is arguably Vietnam’s most tourist-friendly town. In the evening enjoy dinner at one of Hoi An’s best restaurants, fusing Vietnamese and European cooking traditions together.
Day 7 Hoi An (BL)
After breakfast, depart for Tra Que, a charming village in Hoian’s rustic outskirts. Spend the morning working with the villagers as they show you how to harvest and prepare fresh vegetables for meals. Cook a lunch of Vietnamese dishes with our hosts before enjoying the fruits of your labour. The rest of day is free at leisure.
Day 8 Hoi An(B)
Today you have free time to explore Hoi An at your own pace, go shopping or relax at the beach.
Days 9 Hoi An to Danang to Saigon(BD)
Fly to Saigon and transfer to your hotel upon arrival for a rest before embarking upon the Saigon Afrter Dark tour.
Part night excursion, part street food adventure the first stop is to Café zoom to “watch the world go by” and enjoy a cocktail and appetizer before continuing to a favourite local eating spot. Experience the nightlife of Saigon the way locals do, from the back of a vintage Vespa scooter. The tour will start with a ride to Chinatown and will then head through busy streets and alleys to see the local night life. Continue to the downtown area to Banh Xeo, then onwards to a hidden Vietnamese-style coffee shop to enjoy a taste of Vietnamese live music with the locals.
Day 10 Saigon to Mekong Delta(BLD)
In the morning transfer to Can Tho or Cai Be. Board your comfortable wooden river cruise vessel around noon. After a refreshing welcome drink lunch will be served and the boat starts cruising. Sit back and watch the fantastic scenery and the daily life of the Mekong people. In the afternoon you can disembark for a guided leisurely stroll through a village and the surrounding fruit orchards or rice fields. Meet the friendly locals and taste the local produce and fruits. Return to your vessel and enjoy a drink at the bar or relax on deck as the sun sets over the magnificent watery landscape of the Mekong river. Enjoy a delicious dinner aboard your cruise vessel.
Day 11 Cai Rang floating market to Can Tho to Phu Quoc Island(B)
Your vessel sets off at 6.30am for an early morning sunrise cruise. Watch the locals go about their daily work drying exotic fruits and building ships while enjoying an early breakfast. After breakfast, board a sampan boat to Cai Rang floating market, the region’s busiest market. Marvel at the sheer abundance of exotic fruits, vegetables and skillfully handcrafted regional products. You will also visit some of the local candy and cake making factories or sail through the green water landscape to see local houses, verdant orchards and ship-building yards. Leaving the market, you return to shore where a private car and guide await you to transfer you to the airport for a short flight to Phu Quoc Island. An undiscovered island paradise with warm clear waters and long stretches of sandy beaches. Evening Optional candlelight dinner on the beach (payable locally).
Day 12-13 Phu Quoc Island(B)
Two full days free at leisure to enjoy relaxing on the white sand beach or snorkeling or diving among the coral reefs.
Day 14 Saigon to London Heathrow (B)
The morning is at leisure before checking out and transferring to Phu Quoc airport for the flight back to Ho Chi Minh City and onwards to London, arriving the following day.
