2018 – 19

Day 1 Arrive Phnom Penh
Upon arrival in Phnom Penh you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2 Phnom Penh (B)
Morning cyclo tour of Phnom Penh. See Wat Phnom Temple, where the city was founded, then continue to the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda and Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum. Visit the Russian Market.  Later in the afternoon, head to the riverside area of Phnom Penh and enjoy a sunset river cruise.

Day 3 Phnom Penh and to Kratie (B)
Leave Phnom Penh for Kampong Cham (approx 2hr 30 mins), a former French trading post on the Mekong. After a brief tour, continue to Wat Nokor, an 11th century Angkor era Buddhist temple. Travel onwards to Kratie (approx 3 hours) and arrive at your hotel on Koh Trong Island, only a short 10 minute boat ride from Kratie. Remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 4 Kratie (B)
Drive to the village of Kampi, one of the best places to view the rare Irrawaddy Dolphins along the Mekong River. Enjoy a cruise to look for dolphins. Continue towards the village of Sambo and visit Wat Sorsor Mouy Roy. Return to Koh Trong and take a local horse cart ride or you may prefer to pedal yourself around the island on a bicycle.  Visit the island’s Wat, where you can partake in a special tree planting project by planting your own tree. Sample some local fruits and visit a Vietnamese floating village.

Day 5 Kratie to Kampong Thom (B)
Journey to Kampong Thom Province (approx 5hrs 30 mins), pausing at Phnom Santuk Mountain where you can climb the 980 steps to the top to visit the pagoda for the great views over the countryside. Upon arrival enjoy a leisurely afternoon cycling tour along the river or relax by the beautiful hotel pool.

Day 6     Kampong Thom to Siem Reap (B)
Today drive to Siem Reap (approx 2 hrs 40 mins). Visit Sambor Prei Kuk, one of the most important pre-Angkorian sites in the country.  Stop at a local village to observe the production of bamboo and rattan. Arrive Siem Reap, remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 7     Siem Reap (B)
Visit Ta Prohm Temple, unique in that it has been left largely as it was found, overgrown by jungle trees and vines. Continue to Banteay Kdei and Srah Srang. Later, visit the ancient city of Angkor Thom, and enter the city through the ancient South Gate. Also see the Bayon Temple, the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King. Evening performace of ‘Phare, the Cambodian Circus’.

Day 8 Siem Reap (B) 
Visit Angkor Wat at sunrise. Enjoy breakfast at Angkor Café just across from Angkor Wat, before visiting the temple in depth. Continue to Banteay Srei, constructed of pink sandstone. Enjoy a rural sunset over the paddy fields and beautiful countryside from the pyramidal Pre Rup Temple.

Day 9 Depart (B)
Transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
