Day 1 UK to Hanoi

Fly from the UK to Hanoi.

Day 2 Arrive Hanoi

Upon arrival at Hanoi Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Perhaps take an evening stroll to Ly Thai To Square, near Hoam Kiem Lake, where local families gather and the children play.

Day 3 Family City Tour (B)

Visit the Temple of Literature, the gardens of the Presidential palace, the big Reunification Park with its outdoor children’s games, a local market, and maybe a Cyclo tour. In the afternoon meet some experts in the ancestral art of paper mask making and make a mask to take home. Stop for some ice cream, followed by a water puppet show. The evening is at leisure.

Day 4 Hanoi to Suoi Mu (BLD)

Drive towards the Tam Diep mountain range and arrive at Ngoc Son Ngo Luong Nature Reserve. A Muong family will host you for two nights in their delightful lodge, and guide you through their wonderful culture.

Day 5 Thac Mu Waterfall (BLD)

A full day to explore the reserve. Walk along the trails to the waterfall where you can indulge in a refreshing dip. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot, before returning to the lodge. You may wish to join a volleyball game with the village children.

Day 6 Suoi Mu to Ninh Binh (BL)

Depart for the less travelled Mount Tuong, and after lunch, hop on an ox cart for a short ride around the Red River Delta. Later take a sampan ride across three caves to the most scenic valley in the area. Continue by car to Ninh Binh.

Day 7 Ninh Binh to Halong Bay (BLD)

Drive across the Red River Delta to Halong Bay, to board a wooden junk for an overnight cruise through the legendary seascape. After lunch you will have the chance to relax and enjoy the scenery and maybe try some kayaking and experience a cooking demonstration before dinner.

Day 8 Halong Bay to Hoi An (B Brunch)

Have a tasty brunch on board before disembarking, transferring to Hanoi for your flight to Danang, and onward journey to your hotel in Hoi An.

Day 9 Hoi An Farm and Fishing Tour (BL)

Start the day with a leisurely cycle ride along country roads perhaps seeing water buffalo in the rice paddies, ducks swimming, or farmers tending their crops. Later board your boat for a river cruise to meet with local fishermen. This tour provides you with a cultural insight into the ways of life of both farming and fishing communities.

Day 10 Hoi An Free Day (B)

Free day at leisure in Hoi An.

Day 11 Hoi An to Ho Chi Minh City (B)

Free time until your transfer to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival you will be met and escorted to your hotel.

Day 12 Ho Chi Minh City Tour (BL)

Following breakfast, visit the colourful flower market before exploring the FITO Traditional Museum and Ben Thanh Market. Lunch is spent on a street food tour, meeting chefs and tasting their dishes, followed by a trip to Notre Dame Cathedral and the Saigon Post Office, a classic French colonial structure.

Day 13 Fly to UK (B)

Transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
